We are always trying to overcome adversity, no matter what it is. Whether you trying to conquer your fear, play your sport while your sick, or trying to overcome a bully.  Phil Hansen was diagnosed with permanent nerve damage, which causes his hand to shake. THis caused him great discomfort while he tried to make his art.  He wanted his art to be made out of small dots that made a greater image.  He was not only discomforted by the pain in his hand, but by the fact that his shaking his hands were making his dots and lines squiggly.  Phil finally gave up and put down art for a couple of years, but he couldn't stay away.  He then went to neurologist he told him he had permanent nerve damage.  This didn't stop he though, instead of giving up he decided to embrace his shake. He went off the path of art in which he wanted to do, and started to make art with his shaky hand.  He created amazing things and soon went off to things like 2d images, the bigger he got the better he felt.  His ability to create images with his shaky hand that a normal artist couldn't do is amazing to me.  He overcame adversity and instead of giving up he thought of different ways he could do his art.  THis is very inspirational to me.  I think he is one of the greatest artists i have ever seen, not because of his fantastic art, but because of the way he overcame his adversity.
I think everything has more meaning when it comes to someone overcoming their adversity.  A gymnast with no legs just an upper body became one of the best gymnast in the world and won many medals, those medals mean twice as much than if they had just won it. It depends on how much you work and how much you care, and how much you pushed through to get the reward that makes it what its worth. Thousands of people play tennis and only a few are good enough to become the best.  Kids leave their families for acadmeys in different states, and go home schooled for tennis, and pay millions of dollars for tournaments in different states or private coaches.  However, i can't and don't have any of this.  I'm pushing to become the best player i can be despite the other players advantages. I would like to overcome all the people who said i couldn't, the coaches who said i wasn't good enough, and the kids who think i don't stand a chance against them because they're too good. Phil Hansens story has inspired me to do all of this.

Aimee Mullins was born without legs.  When you hear she was born without legs the first thing you think about is that she is disabled. However to Aimee she does not think of herself as disabled. THis is what she has inspired other people to think to. She has proved to people that she is not disabled through all the amazing things she has done.  One person said that it wasn't fair that she could change her height.  I think that is completely fair. WHat could she do, she was born without legs and all she can do is accept what she has. Is it not fair that the girl doesn't have to change her legs or put on on her legs?  WE all have to accept what you have. THeir is a difference between lucky and fair. She may be lucky she can change her height but it is not fair she was born without legs.
Everybodys idea of fair is different. People here think that its not fair that many were hurt in 9/11 and the boston marathon. And the other country might think it is for all we have put them through.  It depends on the degree of fair you are dealing with. If a kid thinks its not fair that her older sister gets to go out with her friends alone, that really is not doing any damage. However, if you think that its unfair that she can change her height thats different.  You can take all her liberty away. So what if she can change her height, she can't help it she doesn't have legs.  She is trying to get all she can out of not having legs and that's perfectly fair.  You don't know what she went through as a kid having no legs.  She is trying to make a difference, and a point thats what matters not how tell she is.  WHat you think is fair may take everything from someone els.
I think the sad things in life inspire me to be a better life.  When i hear about all the unfair things in life that have happened to people who didn't deserve it i always feel like i want to do something to help.  THey inspire me to take action. BEcause if you don't take action who will. You have to stand up and help because in then end you might make a bigger difference than you think.  Like they say it takes 20 seconds of extreme courage and thats really all you need.

Poverty is one of the greatest evils in the world. Unfortunatley poverty doesn't exist in one place it exists all over the world. Poverty isn't just the loss of money it is the lost of lives, happiness, and safety. People in poverty can't pay for medicines.  This leads to the death of adults and children. People in Africa can't pay for vaccines from malaria and can't stop diseases from passing on to their children.  However, today poverty is decreasing.  In places like mid-latin america the numbers of poverty has been halved.  But not just latin america, places like africa as well have had their poverty numbers halved.  THis has lead to decreases in deaths, and the passing on of diseases like HIV. Their are less people with 1.25 dollar wages.  Corruption is being stopped by the loss of poverty.  People can pay for technology to know about people have done bad things. By the far 2030 the rate shown is that their will be 0 poverty in our world. Poverty is a huge problem and may be no longer. Poverty may come back during my lifetime, for we all make mistakes, but if we keep focus and don't let our dreams go we can make poverty disappear as if it never existed.  We can volunteer or donate to organizations that help poverty end. We have so many choices open to us we are the key to making poverty disappear.

For as long as the human race has existed beauty has existed.  It has existed in art, people, objects, landscapes, and much more.  However, exactly what beauty is, is uncertain.  That is what David Dutton explained to us, he explained what beauty is . Beauty has been explained as in  the eye of the beholder, however thought true. it is not exactly what beauty is.  As David explained beauty has existed before language had even been created.  It was used to find mates, or in art such as cave drawings.  It isn't only used in humans but animals as well.  The peacock uses its tail to attract mates.  So how come they know what is beautiful.  Charles Darwin helped David answer this question.  Just as the finches evolved over time beauty has too.  Beauty has evolved over time to fit its time period.  Just as a teardrop shaped tool was beautiful to our ancestors a diamond necklace is beautiful to us.  Beauty really isn't anything it just is.  Beauty has been engraved in our minds since our very earliest ancestor.  It's almost like an instinct we just know, we just know what is beautiful.  Beauty is and always has been a part of us that just comes naturally.

David Blaine accomplished things that many people said were impossible.  David Blaine put his life at risk many times to prove the idea that anything is impossible.  He was buried alive and hung in a box for days with only water.  But his real challenge was when he wanted to beat the world record for breath holding.  He wanted to hold his breath for longer than sixteen minutes and thirty-two seconds.  He pushed through all his fails, all the pain, and all the people who said it could never be done.  On the day of the challenge, with everyone watching, including Oprah, David went through his toughest time yet.  His nervousness caused his heart to speed up and he was rapidly using up necessary Oxygen.  His body started to tingle, and he began feeling pains near his heart and in his chest.  His appendages went numb, and ringing could be heard in his ears.  But to David it didn't matter, he would have rather been pulled out than to give up.  In the end, David accomplished his goal and proved to everyone that it could be done.  David Blaine clearly evinced the morals and ideas, that nothing is impossible, work hard and practice, and never give up.  David Blaine really is the next Houdini.
